CCTV appeal after mobile phone stolen from Dorking shop in distraction theft

CCTV images have been released after a mobile phone was stolen from a Dorking1 shop. The distraction theft happened in Dorking2 High Street on Tuesday afternoon (April 19). It was reported that at around 4.30pm a man entered a shop on the High Street and asked a member of staff behind the desk for a drink of water.

The member of staff fetched the man some water and he then left the store. Shortly after she realised her mobile phone was missing from the desk.

PC Michael Vaccaro said: “I would like speak with this man as I believe he could hold information vital to our investigation.

“If you are the man in this CCTV image or if you know who this man is please get in touch with us.”
