Sony Xperia C6 Release Date: No Confirmation Yet, Mid-range Device Rumored To Offer 6-inch HD Screen With 2k Capability(Reuters)

Rumors suggest that Sony may be working on a new device dubbed as Xperia C6 to cater for the mid-range market. Although, the Japan-based tech giant has unveiled several handheld devices back in February during this year’s Mobile World Congress without the Xperia C6, the model is still predicted to be the successor to Xperia C5 Ultra. Images of the addition in their reportedly reputable C series has been apparently1 leaked online featuring what could be an improved front camera configuration for capturing self-portraits but still sports the 13-megapixel capacity of its touted predecessor.

What makes the shooter interesting is that the lens is believed to be equipped with a flash similar to Apple’s current iPhone 6s. It may also have an aperture of f/1.8 to to help in providing good photos even in low-light condition and at night as compared to C5’s f/2.2 aperture. Moreover, the display is said2 to have a massive size of 6-inch display in high definition resolution with thin side bezels for cluster-fee and better viewing experience. The screen may also carry 2K capability predicted to be powered by the latest Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine. Under the hood, speculations3 have it that it may run on MediaTek Helio P10 processor, to be partnered with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory capacity which can be expanded using a microSD card slot.

It may also support dual SIM capability. In a related noted, there are hearsays4 that the company may be developing a new flagship handheld which also has a better selfie-taking camera called Xperia M Ultra. The cameras of the device are rumored to be a powerful 23-megapixel for rear lens in dual setup with one sensor at 24mm, f2 optical steady shot, while the other with 7.5mm f2.2 aperture.

It may be coupled with a possible trendsetting front snapper at 16 megapixels.

Since Sony has yet to confirm any detail regarding the two models, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.
