These are so fun to throw. Easy to make it go for ages if you throw it hard but you can also easily play it closer together more gently. Having the hole in the middle makes it great fun (and easier) for catching on your arm etc, and the soft edges mean it doesn’t hurt your fingers (and safer for kids etc) when you catch it – can’t count the amount of times I’ve been left with a sore finger from normal hard plastic frisbees!! This is so much better. The smaller model is the one I bought as it is easier to pack in a bag than the big one, but it’s still big enough to catch around your arm. Just be aware though, it is a bit easier to get caught in a tree, but to be honest that also adds to the fun (let’s play lob a shoe at it until it comes down…!). Also, it doesn’t float, but because it’s bright colour, it’s really fun to still play with in the sea/swimming pool because you can see it easily sinking down and when it’s on the bottom. So as long as you can swim down to the depth you can easily grab it.

I used to have the larger Aerobie 30 years ago, and apart from a little damage on the rubber perimeter, it seemed indestructible. The inner core was made from polycarbonate (a bulletproof polymer) and upon checking the Aerobie website, polycarbonate is still the material used; so you can imagine my surprise when my new Aerobie snapped while removing it from the cardboard packing.

I’ve worked with polycarbonate and can assure anyone that it’s an extremely flexible, tough, impact resistant material, hence why it’s been used on military windscreens, safety goggles and also Aerobie spinning rings. The only reason an impact/stress crack would appear is if somebody scored the core with a sharp knife beforehand, or fake copies of Aerobie spinning rings (with cheap plastic cores) are on the market.

The replacement arrived the following day and after a bend test, seems fine, as expected. If your Aerobie cannot stand up against being tugged, bent or slung against a solid object, it’s either faulty or fake and should be returned for a replacement/refund.

This is a durable and incredibly far flying ring. The Aerobie Spring flying ring has a one-piece design with rubbery soft inner and outer edges that circles its hard plastic midsection. The rubbery edges provide it with excellent wear and also makes it joy to throw and catch without tearing up those freshly manicured nails.

Throwing the Aerobie Sprint flying ring is like throwing a frisbee and rewards a good throw with a marvelously long and stable flight. My friends and I were able to throw it rather far in Hyde Park and fairly consistently without much experience. We were able to fly it roughly 40 metres routinely with little effort. Make sure you have ample open space to truly enjoy this flying ring and with masterful flat throw it can be flown very far.

Here’s my YouTube video ([…]) unboxing and closeup look at the Aerobie 10″ sprint ring.
